Meet your trainers - Bev Martin & Diane Murphy

Picture
Bev Martin has been passionate about helping people to grow and change since 1984 where she developed training programs in the banking and insurance industries in her homeland of South Africa. This included teaching high profile banking executives how to present themselves on the brand new media at the time- (television!)  Having completed her degree in Psychology, Drama and Film, Bev was still eager to learn more about the highest and the best possibilities in people and what can be attained when we learn to be in charge of our thinking.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) was that discovery.

Bev completed her Practitioner and Master Practitioner trainings in South Africa in 1991- and 1992. She continued onto advanced Mastery specializing in ' NLP and Health' in the USA in 1994.
Bev has been associated with high quality training in the northwest for over 16 years as training manager and coach for top notch NLP institutes in the Northwest, lead trainer of NLP at the Knightsbridge Institute for Hypnosis and NLP and more recently as Principal for Brilliant U NLP trainings.
Bev founded her practice called 'inner active' in Hillsboro where she loves helping individuals to gain insight, clarity and strategies for self direction.

Bev helps her clients to use all their strengths, using both the right and left specialties of the brain, creativity, imagination, intuition and clear, logical strategies for success.
She is an avid and eclectic reader, and a 'foodie', who enjoys and appreciates the range of high quality natural produce and choices we have here in Oregon. As a partner, parent of a teenager, and business owner she has found NLP skills to be essential in her life and she loves to share what works.

Diane Murphy

NLP communication and thinking skills have been an important part of Diane Murphy’s life for 16 years.
In 1995, Diane started her Practitioner training at NLP Comprehensive in Boulder as she was completing her Master’s degree in Linguistics at the University of Colorado. She found that her background in Linguistics, along with her BA in English Education, informed her understanding and teaching of NLP.

Diane is a certified NLP Trainer and Consultant through NLP University with Robert Dilts and Judith DeLozier. She completed her Master Practitioner training with NLP Pacific in 1999, and has served as Training Manager or Coach for five NLP certification trainings. In total, Diane has 1000 hours in the NLP training room.
Diane has lived and worked in French-speaking West Africa. She was the lead trainer in a team of six in an intensive residential training program to prepare Peace Corps volunteers for English teaching in Guinea. NLP skills were essential in designing the training, building and fulfilling the team’s vision, and offering feedback, especially during the student teaching portion of the training. As a Peace Corps volunteer herself in Cameroon, she taught English to secondary school students in classes of 50-75 students with a book, a blackboard, and her creativity.
As an English as a second language teacher in the US, Diane has trained students and professionals from around the world in English language and communication skills, helping them connect learning to experience and real life applications in fun and engaging ways.

Diane has been a software trainer, teaching beginning through advanced courses in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Her strengths as an educator include making material accessible and relevant in order to help participants achieve their goals.
Diane’s primary focus of NLP skills has been in education, parenting, and family. Married for 20 years with two children, Diane lives in the Portland area. She enjoys videography, dance classes, and camping in our national parks.
